Vision

We exist to meet people on their journey through the healing process to ultimately find their true identity and to experience freedom in Christ.

Mission

Through one-on-one Biblical counseling, spiritual direction, life coaching, training, and group Bible studies, those on the journey are awakened to truth, a deeper relationship with God, and to healing for their wounds. We believe anyone who comes for help should receive this same service, so no one is turned away if they cannot financially afford counseling. While we have a counseling model we utilize, our counselors seek the direction of the Holy Spirit for the needs of the individual. Proverbs 16:9 says, “The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.”

TRUSTED STANDARDS

Healing Journey Ministries, Inc. Counselors are Board Certified ordained pastoral counselors, licensed ministers, or under the supervision of one and have been Biblically trained to minister God’s grace to others through the Exchanged Life Discipleship Counseling process in accordance with the training standards set by Network 220.

Ministry donations may be tax-deductible. Contact your tax professional for advice. We work in cooperation with and answer to our Board of Directors who fully understand their identity in Christ.

FOUNDATION

Healing Journey Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3, non-denominational Christ-centered organization dedicated to serving their community through biblical discipleship counseling and structured discipleship training. 501c3 status is affiliated through Logos Global Network. Healing Journey Ministries joined the Network 220 Association of Ministries dedicated to the Christ as Life Teachings grounded in Galatians 2:20. “ I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

Susy Burchfield

Executive Director / Pastoral Counselor

I was born in Monterrey, N.L. Mexico. I moved to Georgia in 2013. For many years of my life, I lived on an emotional roller coaster. I found myself going full speed ahead while making poor decisions in the process. I became physically exhausted and emotionally drained. No matter what I did, I was unable to fulfill my dreams and aspirations. In 2012, I became interested in Christian Counseling. Through a series of appointed moments and relationships I was introduced to the Advanced Exchanged Life Training (AELT) Program. Soon after, I traveled to the United States to be trained as a Discipleship Counselor. After completing the program, I became a Board Certified Christian Counselor. I am married to my wonderful husband and have an adult son. Sharing the Truth of the finished work of Christ to teenagers, couples and adults is my greatest passion as a Pastoral Counselor. I am currently in the process of becoming a Spiritual Director. I look forward to serving the community in this capacity as well. It’s an honor to serve as the Executive Director here at Healing Journey Ministries to a very gifted team that also has a passion to share Truth and the healing that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have freely given us.

I grew up in Texas and have lived in Georgia since 2004. I have been married since 2001, and have 5 beautiful children (3 girls, and 2 boys). After becoming saved as a young adult, my heart for ministry began to grow. I have always had a desire to share the truth and beauty of who God is to His people. I have been a part of women’s ministry, marriage ministry, teaching, and leadership ministry. Though I enjoyed serving His people, I still felt something was missing. While participating an Exchanged Life Counseling Program, I soon began to see what that was. My eyes were opened in a new way, and I began to experience true freedom in Him. I am humbled and honored by the opportunity to walk with those who are hurting or feeling defeated. Sharing the truths that transformed my life, has been one of my greatest joys as a Christian!

Statement of Faith
VERBAL INSPIRATION OF THE BIBLE
We believe the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, to be verbally inspired of God in the original manuscripts; infallible, inerrant and God-breathed, a perfect rule of faith and practice.
THE TRINITY
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe that God, the Son, who has always existed, became a man (without diminishing His deity) by virgin birth through Mary. He lived a sinless life and as the infinite God-Man took upon Himself the sins of all men, died in their place and satisfied God concerning their sins. We further believe in the literal, physical resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. He was then ascended and exalted to the right hand of God as the Great High Priest of all believers.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, empowering, teaching, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption and leads believers into all truth.
MAN
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin, the race fell and became alienated from God; and, that man is totally depraved in his Adamic spiritual identity and, of himself, is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received only by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (apart from any works by man) whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of sins. Upon receiving salvation, the person receives eternal life, becomes a partaker of Christ’s life and is saved. He becomes a new creation and now has a new identity as a child of God.
ETERNAL SECURITY
We believe that all who have come to reliance upon the work of Christ for their salvation will never lose this relationship.
DEVIL AND DEMONS
We believe that Satan is a person who is aided by a host of evil spirit beings called demons. Their design is to destroy believers, their homes and their churches blinding the lost to the gospel. Every believer is subject to their attack but may be made victorious through Jesus Christ.
SANCTIFICATION
Each believer partaking of eternal life (Christ’s life) was united with Christ, thus crucified, buried, raised and enthroned with Christ. The old man died at that point in time. The results of co-crucifixion must become an experiential reality to each believer as he chooses to walk in the Spirit and not after the flesh if he is to walk in victory. Sanctification, then, is Christ living His life out through the believer. This is not teaching passivity, sinless perfection or the deification of man.
